New CSRL facility marks Phase 1 of an end-to-end cold chain strategy in Rwanda, with integrated cold logistics now underway and a 4,000-pallet warehouse planned for Q2 2027

Kigali, Rwanda — 23rd March 2026 — ARCH Emerging Markets Partners, through the ARCH Cold Solutions East Africa Fund, is pleased to announce the opening of a new 1,400 sq m packhouse in the Kigali Special Economic Zone (PEZ) under Cold Solutions Rwanda Limited (CSRL).

The new facility marks Phase 1 of CSRL’s strategy to build a fully integrated end-to-end cold chain storage and logistics platform in Rwanda. The packhouse is designed to strengthen Rwanda’s cold chain infrastructure by supporting the efficient handling, aggregation, and movement of temperature-sensitive products for both domestic and export markets.

As part of this first phase, CSRL is also now offering cold chain logistics services including intercity, long-haul, and cross-border transportation. These services are intended to help address a key market gap by providing reliable temperature-controlled logistics solutions that protect product quality and integrity across the value chain.

The Kigali packhouse is the first step in a broader long-term strategy to develop modern cold chain infrastructure in Rwanda. As the next phase of this strategy, CSRL plans to launch a 4,000 pallet position temperature-controlled warehouse in Q2 2027, significantly expanding its storage capacity and integrated logistics offering in the market.
